Today is a sad day for me, finding out that Phil has left us. Phil and I were friends in Toms River High School together, before we all moved to California. I can remember going to hear Phil and his band play at Monmouth College my senior year. You know during the folk music craze of the mid-sixties. We reconnected in California for a short time until I left and moved to the southeast. Fond memories of a sweet man, always to be missed.

Phillip lived in my apartment building in San Diego and he reminded me to take the time to always get to know my neighbors. He reminded me a lot of my own grandpa in some ways. He was friendly, kind and loved a good walk around town. He told me how much he loved living by his daughters. He was a great part of our community and will be missed.

Phil was a dear friend and long time colleague. We did consulting and training together, gave back to back speeches at conventions, coauthored a college textbook (Selling by Objectives with Tony Alessandra) and shared years of family experiences, trips, adventures, singing and playing guitar and attending weddings. funerals, births, bat mitzvahs, and so much more! Phil was brilliant and fun above all. When he called me he always greeted me with "Monsieur Catchcart!" Not, "Cathcart" (my actual name) but Catch-cart. I looked forward to his calls which he frequently made from his ever-present in-ear bluetooth device while he was out on one of his many long walks. Phil's imprint in our lives will endure.
