Reino Hamalainen Obituary

Reino A. Hamalainen, 95 06/14/1915 ~ 11/17/2010 OCEANSIDE -- Reino A. Hamalainen died peacefully on Wednesday, November 17, 2010, in Colorado Springs, following a brief illness. Reino was born in Waukegan, Ill., the son of Abel and Hannah Hamalainen. In his early years, the family moved back to Finland where he lived until he was 17 years old. At that time, he returned to live in Joliet Ill., where he met and married Clara. Reino worked for Commonwealth Edison as an electrician for 35 years until he retired. After retirement, he moved to Oceanside, California to be closer to family. He lived there until the Fall of '06 when he moved to Colorado to live with his son, Robert and daughter-in-law, Rene. Reino was a proud member of the Masons for over 66 years, attending meetings until just a couple of years prior to his death. Reino was preceded in death by his loving wife of 47 years, Clara; and his brother, George. He is survived by his sons, Reino of Blountville, Tennessee, and Robert and his wife Rene, who continue to reside in Colorado Springs; his two granddaughters, Leia Llarena and Corinne Tristram. Leia lives in Colorado Springs with two of his great grandsons, Alex and Noah. Corinne lives in Brisbane with her husband Michael, and his great-grandson, Lucas, and great-granddaughter, Aubrie.
