1931 - 2022

Richard Joseph White March 9, 1931 - January 22, 2022 San Diego White, Richard Joseph (Dick, Whitey, Rich) March 9, 1931 to January 22, 2022. Born to Richard J. & Laverne M. White at home in Chicago, IL. Richard grew up in Chicago, Il South Side devout White Sox & Chicago Bear Fan. He always wanted to be a Marine so He became a Reservist first and then in 1952 He was a Full-fledged Marine remaining in the Corps until 1972. He served in Korea & Viet Nam & served @ MCRD in San Diego, CA retiring in 1972 as a Master Sergeant (E-8). After 20 years in the Marine Corps Richard continued His Civil Service Commitment by working @ USPS for another 20 years. He met Roberta (Bobbe) White in 1958 They were married in 1960 & had 50 wonderful years together as Husband & Wife until Bobbe passed away in 2010. Richard is survived by Bobbe's Children Rosemarie Thomas of Escondido, CA, Donald Soucy of Astoria, Oregon & Ronald Soucy of Vancouver, WA Preceded in death by Joey Soucy who passed away in 2003 - all of Whom He raised as His Own with great love - Plus several grandchildren. He is loved & missed by so many but has rejoined the love of His life in eternal life. Richard will be interned @ MCAS in San Diego, CA on March 22, 2022 @ 1 p.m. Miramar National Cemetery 5795 Nobel Drive San Diego, CA 92122. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the National Kidney Foundation. We are hoping to have a live feed for People that cannot be present for the service.
