Robert John Journey

Robert Journey Obituary

JOURNEY, ROBERT JOHN Robert John Journey, born in Columbus, Ohio, on December 1, 1933, passed away May 9, 2008. He joined the Navy at age 18 in 1956, and retired 21 years later as Lt. Commander. His last station was at Ream Field in Imperial Beach. His second career was at Rohr Industries for 19 years where he worked as Director of Security and Human Resources. He was a loving husband and a wonderful father. He enjoyed his grandchildren and great- granddaughter. His wonderful sense of humor will be missed. He is survived by his wife Susan, sons Al and Jim Schlachter, daughters Annette Kaiser and Melissa Journey Dobler. We will miss you. Services will be at Greenwood Mortuary on Saturday, May 17th, at 2 p.m.

I knew Bob when I worked at Rohr, too. He was a fine person, a good friend and a real gentleman. We shared Navy experiences and spent time talking about them. My deepest sympathy to his family. May he rest in peace.
