It is with great sadness that we share the passing of Roberta "Bobbie" Snider, longtime resident of Bonita, California. She was an amazing and loving wife, sister, aunt, nurse, and friend to many, and she truly made an impact on all who were fortunate to have known and met her. She lost her battle with ALS on Sunday, June 27, 2021. This terrible disease may have taken her from us, but it will never take away the memories and legacy that she has left. As a reflection of how she lived her life, her final days were filled with love and devotion from family, friends, and caregivers.Bobbie was born on March 17, 1937, to Viola (ne Sagendorf) and John Chisholm in Oceanside, NY. She graduated from St. Agnes Cathedral High School in Rockville Centre, NY, and immediately entered St. Clare's Hospital School of Nursing in NYC. Upon graduation she was awarded the title "St. Clare's Ideal Student Nurse." She started working at South Nassau Communities Hospital in Oceanside. She later earned her Bachelor of Science degree at Adelphi University School of Nursing, and Master of Nursing degree from the University of Phoenix in San Diego. After relocating to San Diego, Bobbie became the Evening Supervisor at Community Hospital of Chula Vista (currently Sharp Chula Vista Medical Center). She accompanied the first patient transported to the new hospital on Medical Center Drive (on the hill). Bobbie eventually became Assistant Director and Director of Nurses. After leaving Sharp, Bobbie worked at NavCare as Diabetic Educator. After retiring, she was the Secretary and Vice President of Sharp Chula Vista Auxiliary Volunteers for 14 years, which included overseeing the R & I desk.Bobbie was a Eucharistic Minister for many years at Corpus Christi Catholic Church and volunteered for church functions. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 47 years, Ray Snider, Senior Chief Boatswain's Mate with the U.S. Navy (Retired); twin sister, Judy Chisholm Saraniero Rooney of Scottsdale, AZ; sister, Chrissie Chisholm Haunss and husband Henry "Buddy" Haunss of Rockville Centre, NY; nephews Scott Saraniero and Christopher Haunss; nieces Cathy Saraniero, Janine DeMilt, Allison Haunss, Lauren Haunss; and 12 Rooney step-nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by parents, John and Viola Chisholm.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the ALS Association Greater San Diego Chapter, 1980 Peacock Blvd Suite A, Oceanside, CA 92056, 858-271-5547, ALSASD.ORG.Visitation will be held at Glen Abbey Mortuary, Chapel of Roses, 3838 Bonita Road, Bonita on July 15 from 4:00 to 8:00pm (Visitation 4-7pm; Rosary 7-8pm). The Funeral Mass will be at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, 450 Corral Canyon Road, Bonita, on July 16 at 10:00am. A reception and Celebration of Life will follow at the Church Hall.
