Rochelle Ann Capozzi June 1, 1938 - October 20, 2021 Rancho Santa Fe Rochelle Ann Capozzi passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on October 20, 2021. She was the beautiful daughter of Frank and Mary Ciaio, born in Corona, Long Island, New York. She graduated from Notre Dame of Maryland Catholic University in Baltimore. After her mother and future mother-in-law conspired to match their children, Rochelle married the love of her life, Dr. Joseph Capozzi, in Kingston, Pennsylvania in 1960. She was a teacher in Philadelphia before moving to San Diego in 1965 and settled in Rancho Santa Fe in 1972, where she spent the rest of her life. After raising her four children, she opened "Rochelle's Hallmark Store" in Flower Hill Mall with her mother, Mary T, by her side. She showed her love for her family by cooking and graciously entertaining at her home. She was admired for her artistic talents, Christmas decor, impeccable appearance, culinary expertise, and her Catholic faith. She loved to travel and made sure that her children and grandchildren were well educated on every new city and country they visited. Rochelle was active in many philanthropies, including Las Duenas, Scripps Hospital Doctors Wives Auxiliary, National Charity League with her daughters, and Juniors of Social Service. She will always be remembered for chairing the extravagant Masked Ball at the US Grant Hotel. Through these charitable organizations she met many of her life-long friends. Rochelle is survived by her husband of 61 years, Dr. Joseph A. Capozzi, her four children, Denise Capozzi, Joseph Capozzi Jr. (Myeve), Maria Parnell (Todd), Christina Capozzi, and Rochelle's sister, Marlena Brown (Jeffrey). She was blessed with six grandchildren, J.D. and Mia Cutri, Isabella, Gianna, Lucia, and Giuseppe Capozzi. Her children and grandchildren will carry on her beloved Italian family traditions. A private family service was held at the Church.
