Steven Michael Hilles January 10, 1967 - October 7, 2021 SAN DIEGO
The family of Dr. Steven Hilles has lost a beloved husband, father, brother, and son. He was 55 years old. He is survived by his wife Susanne and his daughter Jade, as well as his brother Rick, his sister Carroll, and his parents.

Steven was born in 1967 in Media, PA, the youngest child of Richard and Lillian Hilles. In 1981 he moved with his family to Irvine, CA, where he attended Irvine High School. Steven graduated from Pepperdine University in 1989 and LA College of Chiropractic in 1995. In 1996 Steven and Susanne married, and he began his career at American Specialty Health, where he eventually held the position of Associate Vice President of Health Services. In 2000 Steven and Susanne moved to San Diego, where they created a home and raised their daughter, Jade.

Steven was a thoughtful and gentle man who struggled for many years with anxiety and depression. He overcame his fear of public speaking, becoming an active member of his local chapter of Toastmasters, and created many beautiful memories with his family. We will miss his acts of kindness, his laughter, and the sparkle in his eye.

Steven's ashes will be scattered on the Pacific Ocean in a private ceremony on Sunday, February 20. There will be a reception for family and friends at Steven and Susanne's home on Sunday afternoon.
