Tom always made us laugh when he started one of his "when I was in the Navy Seals..." stories, but we knew he only made it as far as the Harbor Seals. You left us too soon. Gonna miss ya , Big Tom.

Rest in Peace Tom. I haven't seen Tom in many years, but he always had a warm heart and a big smile. His laugh was infectious and his manner would really put one at ease. Truly a kind man. My condolences and best wishes to Pat and Erin. I'll miss him and never forget his friendship.

I was just thinking about the Leovy's. All the kids in the "Marquette Street Hood" always carved pumpkins in the Leovy's backyard; it was truly the place to be this time of year!
Tom being the oldest, always caught the scariest bugs and the biggest alligator lizards in the group. So many memories of being one of the gang bouncing around in their VW van heading to La Jolla Shores, watching the Drive-in movies from their back yard, and hundreds of miles exploring the cliffs and canyons behind our houses before the apts. were built.
My sincere blessings go out to his family and friends.

So long Tom. I will miss seeing you. I really enjoyed visiting with you and your family throughout the years. I have so many great memories of you when we were young. We used to fly “Man in the Moon” paper kites from fishing poles in your back yard. Our families backpacked together in the Sierras many times. You and my brother Tom and your dad made it to the top of Mt. Sill. The rest of us conked out in the valley below. I learned a lot from you. You had a wonderful style with your handsome looks and your “Clint Eastwood” like words. I learned how to be “cool” from you way back in the 60's. You and I had a mutual bond at 5:00 AM for a couple of years. We both delivered the San Diego Union newspaper and I always enjoyed chatting with you for a few minutes every morning. You inspired me with your photography. I got in to surf photography because of you. I remember you and I watching the house fire on Larga Circle, you with camera in hand. I was amazed when you purchased you new Datsun 510 with money you had saved up delivering papers and other odd jobs. Your Datsun had the first stereo FM car radio on the block. You had a good run but it ended too soon. Your inspiration lives on with me and many others. I will never forget you or our friendship.

I was saddened to read that Tom had passed away. He was a great childhood friend of mine. Although our paths never crossed again after that, I remember him fondly. My sincerest sympathies to the entire Leovy family.

Tom was a caring person that I had the opportunity to meet as a friend and co worker. It was a great honor to work with a man that had been there 37 years at Nassco and I was able to learn the good deeds that Tom did., he valued friends and family. He followed and set the example for respect towards others all the time and showing dignity. He's calm demeanor was to be exemplied because in turbulent moments he would not show any type of fear or nervouseness . He will always be remember for always being a good friend that could be counted for. Not to many friends like him are around now on day. He will be missed and the lord bless him,
