I was actually becoming a fan of The Lovin' Spoonful around the time that Zal died and I received a Christmas present of a second-hand Lovin' Spoonful vinyl record - it's the compilation with the faceless clay models on the cover.

I received a lovin spoonful album in 1965 and fell in love with them. Zal was my idol I wore wide stripe shirts and learned how to sing harmony. I formed a rock group J called the nite owls and watched him perform every time I could. At 68 I still listen everyday. I loved that zany, fun filled musician and always will.
