Carol Ann Moyes

1947 - 2025

Carol Ann Moyes passed away on October 10, 2025, in Jackson, California, at the age of 78.

Born on January 3, 1947, in San Jose, California, Carol Ann was the daughter of Gail O. Moyes and Wilda D. Moyes. At a young age, she moved with her family to San Luis Obispo, where she graduated from San Luis Obispo High School in 1965.

Carol Ann began working early in life, starting with babysitting and later joining the Medico Dental Adjustment Bureau. At age 21, she embarked on a long and dedicated career at Sierra Vista Hospital, where she held various business office positions for 48 years until her retirement in 2016.

A proud and devoted member of Delta Theta Chi Sorority for 42 years, Carol Ann cherished every event and trip with her sorority sisters and formed many lifelong friendships through the organization.

In February 2025, she relocated to Jackson to be closer to family due to health concerns. Carol Ann will be remembered for her kind heart, generous spirit, and infectious laugh. Her love of food-especially chocolate martinis-was well known among those who knew her.

She was predeceased by her parents and is survived by her sister, Barbara Jean "BJ" Hoover of Jackson, CA. Affectionately known as Aunt Cam, she will be lovingly remembered by her nephews Dusty Hoover and Josh Hoover; great-nephew Parker Hoover; and great-nieces Chloe Morris, Brooklynn Hoover, and Sequoia Hoover-all of Jackson. Plus many friends she made from coast to coast.

A celebration of life will be held on her birthday, January 3, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at The Chumash Mobile Home Park Clubhouse, 3057 South Higuera Street, San Luis Obispo. Please RSVP to auntcam@gmail.com by December 15, 2025.
