Cindy Shapiro Obituary

In Loving Memory - Cindy G. Shapiro, age 59, went to be with her Lord and Savior on August 4, 2018, at her home in Whittier, California. She was born September 18, 1958, at Whittier Hospital to Roger and Marion Awbrey. Cindy was a 1976 graduate of Monte Vista High School and married Sheldon Shapiro on January 2, 1983 in Whittier, California. She worked for the Whittier DMV, was a pet groomer and her favorite job was a School Crossing Guard. Together Cindy and Sheldon raised two sons: Cristopher James Shapiro and stepson, William Shapiro. Cindy was a devoted wife and mother and family was very important to her. She loved the annual gatherings with her parents and siblings at Dinky Creek in the High Sierra Nevada mountains. Cindy is survived by her husband, Shelly; son, Cristopher; stepson, William Shapiro of Ashland, Oregon; brother, Roger Craig Awbrey of Heber Springs, Arkansas; sister, Suzan Awbrey of Reno, Nevada; and her father. Roger Awbrey of Cayucos, California. Cindy was such a kind and loving person and will be truly missed by her family and all who came to know her.
