I went to High School with Fred in Los Angeles and met him years later coincidentally in Atascadero, learning we both lived there. Fred represented me on a couple civil issues and was quiet, professional, but effective. I remember in HS, he had a wooden 2X6 with roller skates wheels on it and would do sidewalk surfing before it was called that! My condolences to his family. May he RIP.

Fred and I graduated from Law School together and he even worked for me for a short time. No finer person had I ever met. I am sorry I missed his service but I will always say that I was very proud to have known Fred.

Fred's beautiful family surprised him with a longboard for a milestone birthday. He kept it at the office for a while, and would slip away for a quick session every once in a great while. Chris Casciola and I were treated to a display of Fred's athleticism one afternoon at the Pismo pier. Fred stroked easily but powerfully into the first wave, popped effortlessly to his feet, and cross-stepped deftly to the nose. Once there, he posed the "soul arch", holding it just long enough for us to notice.
Fred practiced law the way he surfed: with classic style and understated grace. He will be missed.

Fred was the best brother a girl could ever have. He was an amazing person in every way. There will always be a huge, empty hole in my heart.

Fred Foss was a wonderful man and excellent attorney. I had the pleasure and good fortune of learning from him when we represented co-defendants together. Fred will be truly missed by the legal community. My condolences to the family.
