Neighborhood memories that are abound for many of us were made possible by Mr. Johnelle, our shining example of the quintessential father, husband and family man. We are all better adults today because he touched us as children.

Mrs Eleanor, I think you know how much you and your family mean to me. Kirk and I met in elementary school and then I met you and the rest of your family when we moved across from you a few years later. Mr John L was my dad whenever I needed him whether I knew it or not. I miss him and hope the best for you and your family during this time of grief.

To Mrs. Jackson, Denise and family, I was deeply sadden to hear about the passing of Mr. Jackson. He took up time with us growing up in the neighborhood and when I had children, he also had time for them. William and Victoria also sends their heart felt sympathy.
Be strong, be encouraged.

To the family of Mr. Johnie Jackson. I am so sorry for your loss. Mr. Jackson was blessed with 91 years of strength. (Psalms 90:10) May your hearts be filled with joyful memories of time spent with him as you remember a life well lived. May the Hearer of Prayer bring you strength and peace in your time of sorrow.

The Final Salute
“Brothers in Arms”, Military men and women down through the centuries, have traditionally exchanged “Hand Salutes” as a sign of recognition and as a way to render courtesy and respect one to another.
This “Hand Salute” is the last that we shall render to Johnie L. Jackson our “Brother-in-Arms”. To his family it symbolizes the love and respect that we have for John. And to John it is rendered as a symbol of honor and gratitude to thank him for the devoted and selfless service he rendered to his country during WW-II while serving in the U.S. Armed Force. John, we commend you for your honorable service. You are a true patriot, who served with honor and distinction. You upheld the finest qualities of an American patriot warrior: courage, commitment, generosity, sacrifice, love and devotion to family and country. You were a true friend. We bid you a sad farewell. You will be dearly missed from among our ranks. Be at Ease. Rest in Peace.
On behalf of the 1,261 military veteran Legionnaires of Lowe-McFarlane Post 14 of the American Legion and the 233 veterans of VFW Post 2238 in Shreveport, Louisiana, we extend our sympathies and our condolences to John's family and loved ones.
