Pamela Bodine Obituary

Pamela Grzincic Bodine of Cambria, passed away at 8:30 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 25, 2012, after nearly six years of a valiant battle with stage IV cancer. She passed away at the young age of 52 peacefully in her sleep, surrounded by beautiful coastal pines holding the hand of the man she loved. Pam was born in Providence, R.I., in 1960 and spent most of her life in California after age one. A proud veteran of the U.S. Air Force, Pam continued her service to her community and country as an active member in various local organizations including service as the President of the Cambria Historical Society, Pinedorado Parade committee and member of the Cambria Lions. Pam held the position as Service Officer and Legion Rider for American Legion Post 432, where she was awarded "Veteran of the Year" in 2011. Many friends and family members surrounded Pam in her final weeks and she left this life happy, peaceful and full of light and love. Pam is survived by her loyal and loving husband, Jerry Bodine of Cambria; daughters Jade Lehrmann and Sandy Valois of Cambria; three grandsons Shawn, Tristen and Cameron Lehrmann; mother, Patricia Drake of San Luis Obispo; grandmother, Mary Tracey of Rhode Island; and three brothers Chuck, Tom and Matt Grzincic. Her dad, John Grzincic, preceded her in death. There will be a service at noon Saturday, Nov. 3, 2012, at the Santa Rosa Church in Cambria, followed by a procession to the old Santa Rosa Cemetery for burial, with military honors. Pam asked that her friends and family come at 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 3, 2012, to the American Legion Hall on Main Street in Cambria for a pot luck dinner to share your musical talents and stories.
