Patty Gordon Obituary

Patty Richards Gordon, wife of Kurt Clemens, longtime resident of Huntington Beach, Calif., passed away peacefully Friday, June 22, 2012, at home. Patty was born in Pasadena, Calif., in April 1945 and raised in Ontario, Calif. She started her career in the banking industry as a teller in the 1970s and retired as a Vice President and Director of Operations for Federal Home Loan Bank of San Francisco in Southern California. She had an avid interest in politics, which lead to many interesting, fun and lively debates. She loved the gathering of her family at her Lake Tahoe home, which was an early childhood and lifetime vacation destination. Patty was a member of Lake Tahoe Blue, Chaffey High School Alumni Association, and longtime booster for Huntington Beach High School athletics. Thank you Patty for loving Kurt, embracing your sisters and brother always, and your never ending loyalty and generosity to all you loved. Patty is survived by her loving husband and best friend, Kurt Clemens; Kurt''s parents, Cliff Clemens and LaRae Irvine; son, Patrick Gordon (Tracy); stepdaughters Shelby McCabe (Drew), Kristin Perrone (Nick) and Dana Rivera (Andy); and siblings Roy, Marcia and Shanna Richards; nephew, Sean Stephens (Kelly) and children Adam and Ty. She embraced and loved dearly the grandchildren in her life Ellie Elaine Jago Gordon, Emma, Hanna and Cole McCabe and Mia Perrone. A memorial service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, July 8, 2012, at the First Christian Church, 1207 Main St. in Huntington Beach. I was shocked & saddened to hear of Patty's passing. Although I had not seen her in the several years that have passed since we worked together at FHLB I enjoyed her yearly Christmas letter detailing the latest in the Gordon-Clemens clan. She was a very special lady and I will always remember our long talks over lunch and while car pooling. She had a great sense of humor and her family was everything to her. My prayers for comfort and peace go out to Kurt and the whole Gordon-Clemens family.
