My most memorable time spent with Bob was on quite an adventurous trip through the mountains and jungles of Peru. While on our time in Peru our guide in the jungle coined the name "Mr. Bob". Ever since I´ve always referred to Dr. Harway as Mr Bob as an endearing memory to the man who I found to be full of stories, humor, and the occasional grumpiness. They are fond memories and I´m so glad to have spent the time with both Bob and Olga during this time.
I send my sincerest condolences to the extended Harway family and also celebrate a most accomplished life.

Bob was a real and genuine person. He and Olga have always been examples to me and my family of how to enjoy your life; with gusto. Our travels with them cemented this view and will always live in our memories. His frank, open style could have appeared gruff to some, but was truthful and honest. I always enjoyed and respected him for these qualities. He will be missed by us all, but it is comforting to know what a full and loving life that he had. Rest in peace, "Robert".

Hello My dears, I am writing to ask you how do I get in line to sing one song, Shirley Horn's version of "Here's to Life" in Eflat. I have a chart for this song of which I will be making several copies to share with the musicians who might like to join in on the tune.
I look forward to hearing from you!

Bob was an integral part of the jazz community for many decades. He played on most of the 40 Piano Showcases held each year. The Jazz Federation has created a YouTube playlist of many videos featuring Bob at https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL-rHkAo9dvquREHHfFP_Rxz8BfKkEKS0l

Bob´s mother and my paternal grandmother were sisters. They came from Kapuvar in western Hungary, near its border with Austria. I first met Bob and Olga in the 1970s in Bakersfield during the first of my many visits to Caliornia (often as a grateful guest of theirs). I remember a swimming pool full of children, including their own. I shared Bob´s love of music (passive in my own case) and animals. We also shared interests in politics and history. I am forever indebted to Bob for once showing me his way of making oatmeal (what we in England call "porridge"): gently steaming the bowl for 30 minutes. I have been making it Bob´s way ever since. Our hearts go out to all the family members of this good and faithful servant. We had the privilege of being both coworker and patients.
As a support staff person at Community Health Center I learned that passion heals as much by technique as by heart.
His stories were legendary . His brush with his commanding officer for
diagnosing a malingerer as "lost in space" as well as his dictum "become an artist with the needle and the world will beat a path to your door " will remain with me forever.
His New York chutzpah never faded. The last time I saw him he was taking on a lotto vending machine and not giving an inch.
Memories of him will always be a blessing!
Peace...Jim and Susan Hofman

Condolences to the Harway family for the loss of your great patriarch! Robert´s circle of life reflects a great legacy of service, compassion, and musical talent to the entire community. You will be dearly missed, Dr. Harway. Ralph and I enjoyed all those times you invited us to your lovely home to listen to your musical concerts as you played the piano! Loved Olga! She was always by your side and the love you had for each other really showed! Years later, I became your daughter Elana´s cheerleader advisor and English teacher. She really made you proud by following in your footsteps becoming an orthopedics' doctor. May you rest in peace, Dr. Harway and meet your old friend, Ralph Kettelkamp in heaven! Love, Martha Michalojko Kettelkamp

I remember Dr. Harway from my legal practice. He was an expert evaluator for many of us, and a truly wonderful man. R.I.P. Doctor.
