Robert Lauble Obituary

Bob Lauble passed away quietly in his sleep Tuesday, June 9, 2009, with his family at his side. Born in February 1926 in Burbank, Calif., he graduated from Burbank High School and joined the U.S. Navy. He served as an electrician on a destroyer in World War II. He attended UCLA and earned his teaching credential. While at UCLA, he met Darla Klopp - they married in 1953. For the next 25 years, he raised three sons. Being very much involved with his children, he coached youth football, basketball and baseball, and served as Cub Master for Burbank''s Pack 22. He was awarded a Life Membership for Special Youth Service. Bob retired in 1989, after teaching health for 30 of his 35 years at Millikan Junior High School in Sherman Oaks, Calif. When he retired, he moved to Lake Nacimiento (near Paso Robles), where he enjoyed boating, fishing and spending time with his grandchildren. Bob is survived by his sister, Barbara Bax and family; sons Brett (Jan) of Crescent City, Calif., Todd (Leslie) of Mt. Hood, Ore., and Kent of Paso Robles; grandchildren Jason, Jennifer, Steve and Hagen; and great-grandchild, Jackson. Chapel of the Roses 466-1161 Atascadero

Hi Brett:

I was very sorry to read of your Dad's passing last week in the Burbank Leader. I remember your family so well from the 1960-70's at American Lutheran Church. It's hard to lose your parents, both of mine are gone, but their memories will always make me smile. The best to you and your brothers.

Velma, Thank you for signing the guest book. If you can make it we will be having a celebration of life for dad at Millikan Jr. High in Sherman Oaks on July 11, 2009 @ 11:00 am. He taught there for over 30 years and has a student lawn named after him. We thought it would be a great place to meet. Hope you can make it.

Thanks for sending the notice of Bob's passing. We were good friends back in 1947 when we double dated and would see him periodically. He made contact a few years ago, had heard he was ill . Our condolences to the extended family. Velma (Boren) & Herb Vincent
