San Luis Obispo, California - Shirley (McCabe) Furtado passed away November 10th, 2025 at the age of 95. Shirley was born in Kansas and grew up in Santa Maria, CA.
She peacefully passed away surrounded by family in the home she lived in for 70 years. Where family and friends gathered for all occasions.
Shirley was very involved in the Portuguese Community and really enjoyed camping, listening and laughing along with great conversation.
Shirley is survived by 3 children Carol Spoeneman, Janet Perez (Mario), and Danny Furtado (Nancy). 9 Grandchildren Angela Lima (Danny), Brian Spoeneman (Amber), Kimberly (Cesar Molina), Gabriel Perez (Carly), Perry Perez (Kelly Holman), Julia Mena (Rob), Jerett Furtado (Anna), Mallory (Jack), Maria Lombardi ( Michael). As well as 12 Great Grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband Manuel Furtado, and brothers Jimmy and Gary McCabe.
Viewing is Thursday November 20th, 2025 at Reis Family Mortuary at 991 Nipomo St., San Luis Obispo, CA from 4pm to 7pm. Graveside Services to be held Friday November 21st, 2025 at Old Mission Catholic Cemetery 101 Bridge St., San Luis Obispo, CA at 10am. Celebration of Life to follow.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
