Terry Tate Obituary

Terry Tate, 64, of Atascadero died Saturday, Feb. 22, 2003, at his home. A memorial will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Atascadero Moose Lodge. Mr. Tate was born Jan. 4, 1939, in Oelwein, Iowa. He was raised and went to college in Iowa. Joining the Navy brought him to California. He went to work for Farmers Insurance Company after the Navy. He retired from Farmers after 30 years. Mr. Tate was a member of the Atascadero Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 2814 and the Atascadero Moose Lodge No. 2067. He enjoyed participating in many functions with the Moose Lodge, retirement and spending time with his wife Grace. Mr. Tate was well-loved by his many friends. He is survived by his wife Grace Ann Tate of Atascadero; daughters, Wendy H. Tate of Atascadero, and Lisa M. Tate of 29 Palms; stepdaughter and son-in-law Michelle and Jerry Battaglia of St. Claire Shores, Mich.; stepson Michael Gowland; three stepgrandchildren; mother Charlotte Tate; and brother and sister-in-law Chuck and JoAnn Tate. Donations may be made in his name to the Cancer Society or to Hospice Partners of the Central Coast. Arrangements are under the direction of Chapel of the Roses of Atascadero.
