Thomas Hardwick

1950 - 2025

Beloved husband, friend, and community volunteer or 'volunteer extraordinaire' as many knew him, passed away peacefully and was surrounded by loved ones on November 9, 2025, in Paso Robles. Thomas was born in Oakland, California, and lived a life full of purpose, laughter, and generosity.

After graduating from high school, Thomas proudly enlisted in the U.S. Navy, serving from 1968 until 1974. Following his service, he began a long and fulfilling career with the telephone company, where he worked for 30 years before retiring in 1999. It was there that he met the love of his life, Bevelina - his partner in all things and the center of his world.

In 2003, Thomas and Bevelina moved to Paso Robles, where they built a life filled with community, friendship, and good wine. For nearly two decades, he was an integral part of Rio Seco Winery, lending his skills in computer support, wine pouring, harvest work, wine club management, and just about anything else that needed doing. A true "jack of all trades," he could fix, build, or figure out just about anything.

An avid gardener, Thomas became a Master Gardener and served as president of the organization for several years. He was known for his incredible tomato plants, lovingly grown each year from seeds he'd saved from the last season and sharing them with friends and neighbors. Gardening was not just a hobby - it was his calling.

A tireless volunteer, Thomas gave freely of his time and talents to the Paso Robles Library, the Main Street Association, Coastal Cleanup, and numerous wine events. His community was truly better place because of his efforts.

When he wasn't volunteering or tending to his garden with Bevelina, you could find him on the golf course, enjoying the camaraderie of his buddies - even if his swing wasn't the best. At home, he was known for spoiling Bevelina rotten, taking on all the handyman chores, doing the grocery shopping, vacuuming, ironing (especially during football games), and keeping the kitchen spotless.

Those who knew Thomas will remember him as compassionate, caring, trustworthy, imaginative, generous, witty, funny, and endlessly curious. He was always willing to share his knowledge and lend a helping hand to anyone who needed it.

He leaves behind his devoted wife, Bevelina, and countless friends who will miss his humor, kindness, and the steady presence he brought to every room he entered.

A celebration of life will be held at the Quail Run Estates clubhouse on Friday, December 5 from noon - 3.
