Elizabeth Joyce Anderson "Bette" West

1923 - 2025

Elizabeth Joyce Anderson West (Bette) was born on March 27, 1923 in Proctor Minnesota. She passed away on January 25, 2025, just two months short of her 102nd birthday. We were both blessed and spoiled by having her with us so long. A great conversationalist, Bette enjoyed keeping up with current events, and she loved to travel - whether it be a good road trip around the U.S. or trips abroad with her dear husband Bob. The two married on August 24, 1946, shortly after Bob returned from WWII. They started their family in Aurora, Illinois before moving to Corpus Christi, Texas in 1955, where they remained until moving to San Marcos in 1990. Bette was always active in the community and loved playing bridge with her many friends. When asked to what she attributed her long life, she said, "I always walked." And indeed she did.

Bette was preceded in death by her parents, Ragna Larson Anderson, and Alfred H. Anderson, as well as by her sister Margery McIntosh, and her husband Robert Frank West. She is survived by her children Rebecca West Day (and husband Donald Day), Steven Robert West, and Cassandra West Dahnke (and husband Jack Dahnke), as well as by her grandchildren, great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

The family will hold a private service at a later time.
