Thomas "Tommy" Bodine

Thomas "Tommy" Bodine of Seguin, beloved husband, father and grandfather, passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 30, 2009 at the age of 74. He was born April 26, 1935, in Galveston to Thomas Lee and Myrtle (Niemeyer) Bodine.Tommy was an avid fisherman and hunter. He was both a Spurs fan and a Cowboys fan, and a member of the barbershop singers group, "Hill Country Chorus," from New Braunfels.He graduated from Texas Lutheran College in Seguin in 1961. He worked at the Welfare Department and for the Texas State Commission for the Blind, finding employment for the handicapped. He also built homes for the underprivileged after 16 years service with the commission for the blind. Tommy was very active in the San Marcos Food Bank, CASA, the Salvation Army and held several offices at the Ebenezer Lutheran Church. Tommy touched many lives and will be dearly missed by all who knew him.He is survived by his wife Patsy Bodine; son Thomas L. Bodine, III and wife Connie of Austin; daughter M'Liss Harrington and husband Rich of Seguin; brother Ronald Stanley Bodine and wife Brenda of Texas City; sister Elouise Lawrence and husband John of Santa Fe; and three grandchildren, Tawnie Rose Bodine, Ian Reese Beck and Amanda Louise Harrington.Family will receive friends today at Pennington Funeral Home from 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 4 at the Ebenezer Lutheran Church in Maxwell, with the Rev. Tim Bauerkemper and the Rev. William F. Lange officiating.
