Brian C. Johnson, 27, of Santa Cruz, passed away December 27th, 2015 from a life long battle with Cystic Fibrosis with his family surrounding him. Brian was born June 23rd, 1988 to his father Brian Johnson and his mother Cathy Heath. Brian attended schools in Manteca, Santa Cruz, San Jose and Montana. Brian was diagnosed with cystic fibrosis at six months old and at 17 year's young, Brian received a double lung transplant from the UCSF medical center. With that lifesaving lung transplant, Brian went on to enjoy another ten years of fun and laughter with family and friends.
Brian is survived by his parents, Brian & Kristen Johnson, Isaiah & Cathy Heath, brothers Ronnie Raymond & Cole Heath, sister Joleen Chavez, grandparents Tony & Rosie Leimas, Mary & Dale Gunwell and Alfred Johnson, as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Brian's celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, January 16th at 1:00 PM at St. Patrick's Parish at 721 Main St. in Watsonville, CA 95076. A reception will follow with details provided at the services.
A Go Fund me page has been set-up in the name of the Brian Johnson Memorial Fund (www.gofundme.com then search zip code 95252 to locate) to assist with his funeral expenses and then a donation will be made in Brian's name to Cystic Fibrosis research and the Make A Wish Foundation. Brian was granted a Make A Wish as a teenager and we know Brian would want to pay it forward.
