Brian Meikle Obituary

Brian Meikle
October 7, 1942 - March 30, 2015
Santa Cruz
Donald Brian Meikle was born in St. Albans, England on October 7th, 1942. He spent his early childhood in England until he moved to Plainfield, New Jersey where he spent his teenage years. Brian was always a man of the water and when he moved west to sunny Southern California where he developed his love of boating. In Southern California he met his wonderful wife of 48 years Pamella Dawn Meikle.
When it came time to start a family Brian moved to Northern California to the coastal town of Santa Cruz. It is in Santa Cruz where Brian made his life. He owned and operated Pacific Coast Volvo Chrysler Jeep for over 25 years. He was member of many Santa Cruz organizations where he gave so much of his love and life. When Brian retired he made one last move to Roseville California to become the best grandpa a man could be. Brian touched so many people along his voyage of life. He was a mentor, a friend, a father, a husband, and a grandpa. A friend said it best when describing how he treated people, " He always made me feel important, and that I was family."
Brian is survived by his wife Pam, his brother Roy, his son Brian, his daughter (in-law) Erica, and his four grandchildren Will, Jonathan, Briana, and Quinn. His final voyage was March 30th 2015. The celebration of his life will be at Hotel Paradox at 1:00 on Sunday April 12th. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Brian can be sent to the Michael J. Fox Center for Parkinson's Research at: https://www.michaeljfox.org/

Brian was a wonderful person to know, he cared about his family, his business and his community. I knew Brian through is work as an Eastside Santa Cruz business
owner and over the years and after
countless conversation we became friends.

I was sorry to see him leave Santa Cruz but I knew for Brian his family was always first. Thank you Brian I will remember all those conversations and most of all you as a caring and person.

Brian and I enjoyed an unusual friendship that began at our Surf City Kiwanis Club, but then morphed into a business relationship. However, we were always friends and spent many hours discussing spiritual matters. I know I will see him again someday...probably motoring around those golden streets in a shiny Volvo. May God bring the family great comfort at this time.
