So sorry to hear about Ciro. He was a wonderful friend to my mother, Joie. He helped her in so many ways, and she enjoyed the wine he made.

I knew Ciro mostly through Rosemarie, and through Tony, who was in my third grade class. It was always a pleasant experience, to talk with him. He made donations to my classroom. You could tell how important his family was to him. Once my wife saw him shopping at the grocery store, and all he seemed to have in his cart was pounds and pounds of potatoes and onions.....Was he sharing with neighbors, or supplementing with his home-grown vegetables? Now that we have heard more anecdotes about him, it doesn´t seem so strange...

Ciro had an office next to me at UCSC. He introduced me to mushroom foraging, something that has brought me much joy. He was always so full of excitement and joy.
