Daniel Marquez Obituary
The Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday for Daniel Marquez who died in Santa Cruz on August 22, 2005. A native of Santa Cruz, he was 27 years old. He attended Mission Hill Junior High and graduated from Santa Cruz High School. Daniel recently earned custody of his young daughter. For the past year, he was the major care giver for her. He will be remembered by his family as a loving father.
He is survived by his mother and father, Jesus and Consuelo Marquez of Santa Cruz, his daughter, Angelica Marquez, brothers: Luis Antonio Marquez of Watsonville, Fidel Marquez of Soquel, Jesus Marquez of Mexico, Miguel Marquez of Susanville, Juan Marquez of Santa Cruz, sisters: Ana Maria Aguilera of Soquel, Marta Marquez of Santa Cruz, Alma Mendoza of Santa Cruz and Sandra Marquez of New York. He also leaves many loving cousins, nieces and nephews. Friends may pay their respects at a visitation on Thursday, August 25th at Benito and Azzaro Pacific Gardens Chapel from 3 p.m. until 8 p.m. The mass will be held at Holy Cross Catholic Church (126 High Street) in Santa Cruz on Friday August 26th, beginning at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery (2271 7th Ave.) in Santa Cruz. FIRST MY THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS GO OUT TO THE MARQUEZ FAMILY, MY DAUGHTER RACHEL AND GRAND-DAUGHTER ANGELICA MARQUEZ.WE ALL LOVED DANNY SO MUCH. HE WAS A GREAT FATHER AND FRIEND.I WAS JUST TELLING MY FRIEND THE OTHER DAY, I DIDN'T HAVE A GOOD RELATIONSHIP WITH MY DAD AND SADLY RACHEL THE SAME. BUT DANNY MADE UP FOR BOTH OF US WITH THE LOVE HE GAVE HIS DAUGHTER ANGELICA FOR THE LAST 7 YEARS. ANGELICA EXPERIENCE THE TRUE MEANING OF A REAL FATHER.FOR THAT I WILL FOREVER BE GRATEFUL FOR.I WAS AND WILL ALWAYS BE PROUD TO CALL DANNY MY SON IN LAW BECAUSE IN MY HEART THAT IS WHAT IT WILL ALWAYS BE,I LOVE YOU DANNY AND I WILL MISS OUR LONG TALKS AND OUR SHARED LAUGHS.DANNY REST IN PEACE AND KNOW THAT RACHEL TOO LOVED YOU, SAYING GOODBYE WAS THE HARDEST THING EVER FOR THE BOTH OF THEM.ANGELICA WORDS WERE,SHE WILL SEE HER DADDY AGAIN IN HEAVEN AND THAT IS WHEN THEY BOTH WILL WAKE UP TOGETHER JUST LIKE THE HAPPY TIMES. Dear Marquez Family
I cannot imagine your pain. But allow god to give you the strength to get through all of this. Remember that the best thing to do is to keep Danny's memory alive and remember all the wonderful moments you all shared with him. Life takes some unexpected turns but know that he is in a better place now. My deepest prayers are with you all.
