Dear Brooke,
Twice I had the opportunity to meet with your dad, and both times I was so impressed with his adoration, love, and respect for you. He really wanted you to be successful in school, sports, and everything else throughout your life. He wanted you to make good choices and to always do your best. He wanted you to be gentle and kind, have confidence, and to be a leader. Brooke, I see all these qualities in you; you're an amazing girl and a wonderful student! Through this loss of your daddy, you have taught us so much; we thank you for sharing such grace. You are a beautiful balance of strength and compassion; we will forever care about you, and help to keep your dad's legacy a special memory. You were his pride and joy... Brooke, you were your daddy's hero! You were, and are, so very loved!!

Dave,
I have known you, since, I was about thirteen years old. I have lots of great memories about you. I remember you teaching me how to lift weights. One day, I thought I was getting pretty strong, So I tried to bench press, what I thought was, a huge amount of weight. You told me, I was doing real good! Then you asked me, to spot you and took the weight, I just tried and you curled it a couple times. We decided, I still had work to do!
You were a really good father to my niece. I know, you were always very involved in her life. I'm so glad we will always have a piece of you in Brookie. She is a wonderful little girl. She lights up a room, as you did.
My family will miss you. Jeremy, still plays with those"Autobots" you gave him on occasion!

Brooke, I believe that God will only give us what He knows we can handle and while this is definately one of the hardest things you will ever go through in your life, God must have needed your Daddy for something bigger up in heaven and God knows that you’re such a strong and brave girl that He chose you and your Daddy. I know that you will always remember your Daddy for all of the wonderful things that he did for you and everyone around him and so will so many other people. Always keep him in your thoughts with each and every decision that you will face in your life. Feel Blessed that God loves you so much that He gave you this amazing strength and that He loves your Daddy so much that He couldn't go on without him. You are now one of the strongest little girls in the world and while it may be very difficult for you to accept that over having your Daddy here with you, just know that he is always with you, just a thought away and that you posess all of the strength he gave you.
God Bless! With Love Always,

Miss me, but let me go
When I come to the end of the road and the sun has set for me
I want no rites in a gloom filled room
Why cry for a soul set free
Miss me a little - but not too long
And not with your head bowed low
Remember the love that we once shared
Miss me - but let me go
For this journey that we must all take
And each must go alone
It's all part of the Master's plan
A step on the road to home
When you are lonely, and sick of heart
Go to friends we know
And bury your sorrows in doing good deeds
Miss me - but let me go

Where do I start? You taught me alot of what I know and I was the most awesome softball player ever because of you. You were more of a dad to me than my real father was and I just want to say thankyou .. You were an awesome dad! You were great at all you did. My biggest memory with you was when I was helping you nail boards down and you told me 100,000 times to watch out for nails so what did i do but step on one. and the time that i fell on the shovel and we tried hiding it from mom but i was too much in pain, The donut shops every day before school.. Your stinky feet, Your "head" things, You always had to embarass the most out of us, You were hillarious ... You will be missed so much!!!!! I know that you will be looking down on us and keeping your eye out.. I wish you could have met my daughters that would have meant the world to me. Well we all love you so much! Your always in out hearts..
Sincerely,
Liz, Emilee, Ashlynn.<3 R.I.P.

To my Niece Brooke Naegle,
Brooke, you have countless friends and family who surround you. They too are feeling the enormous saddness and loss. The unimaginable truth that your daddy has passed away. I feel your loss deeply. I want you to know that if ever there is a time in your life that you would like to Laugh Or Cry with me about your daddy know that your auntie Leanne will reach for and embrace You with Open Arms. Please, please believe and know Brooke that your daddy is a part of you, as You are a part of him and together you will carry on for ever and ever.
Brookie try this...
Close your eyes and imagine daddy's arms wrapped firmly around You. Imagine his warmth, his touch, and his profound strength. Use all the special gifts You have been given to Remember in your precious mind daddy's Smiling Face. Brooke, picture his Smiling Face looking directly at You.
The Reason Your Daddy Is Smiling Brooke Is Because of You!! He is Smiling because of all the little things, all the big things, and for Simply You Being You and how Very Proud You made him feel. Daddy is Smiling Brooke from all the countless memories that flooded his heart and mind with joy each and every day since the day your were born. Brookie your daddy will Continue to Smile for what "He Knows" the future will hold for You. Return Your Smile with Every Chance You Can. It is Priceless.
Together, You Will Be The Lucky Ones!! Angels come to us in many forms Brooke. This, I know For Sure. Your Angel Comes With A Smile That Will Never Be Forgotten.
I Love You Brooke For who You Are, AND for You Being The Reason My Big Brother Became, "The Angel With A Smile!" Auntie Leanne

The Simple Truths through the eyes and heart of a little sister.
Dave was an outstanding athlete. I can think of countless weekends cheering from the stands of Harvey West Park. The coolest left handed first basemen who could field the ball as good as, or better than anyone. Though his baseball days drew to an end as he grew older his skills of athleticism were passed on to his daughter Brooke. Remember Brookie when you swing the bat, catch and field the ball on the softball field your daddy will always be there with you. Your daddy's strength is within you Brookie. Embrace it. Dave was a meticulous thinker. Always trying to figure out how to create. Dave loved a challenge. When it came to contests you just knew Dave would strive to be the best. I can remember every year at Westlake Elementary there was a cake baking contest. I'm almost certain that each year Dave entered he came home with the blue ribbon! Fallowing each year with something better and more elaborate than the last. Giving up and settling was never an option for Dave. Again Brooke your daddy has and will from up above continue to teach you to never give up. Hang in there sweetheart and be sure that your daddy, my brother loves you more and more each day. Dave had such a large heart and strong will to survive, no matter the circumstance. Dave was the best father any child could hope for. No one is given a "How To" in regard to raising a child, however if my brother Dave was to write that book; it would be a best seller. Brooke your daddy was involved in every aspect of your past 8+ years. He offered knowledge and experience to you that I know you will keep within for your entire lifetime. I feel so proud to know that my big brother had the amazing self to raise such a beautiful, outgoing, athletic, smart, and simply sweet daughter. Brooke, you and your daddy were quite a team! He loved you more and more Brookie with each breath he took. You were his life. I'm not sure just how I gained the strength to revisit these spectacular memories of Dave. What I do know for sure though is this...I plan on taking this day and each day that fallows to reflect the Hug Impact...The Real Truth...and the Importance...To...Cherish The Gift Of Life. Most importantly Big Brother, as you graciously continue your journey I must believe that you are finally surrounded by Peace and in the Presence of Uncontitional Love. THE ULTIMATE! I will always love you Big Brother. Your laughter surrounds me like a protective shield. Your fight for life is an inspiration that drives me to look up with praise, and be thankful for You Dave, just as you are.
Today is the day 44 short years ago my big brother Dave was born. This day February 21, 1963 was the celebration of a new life. Now that Dave is in the hands of another the celebration will continue for eternity.
Love,Hugs and endless laughter; your little sister, Leanne

Dave,
Today would have been your 44th birthday. Dolly had difficulty this morning, but I know you will help her through today. You would have been so proud of her last Sunday when she held a memorial in your honor at the duck pond... she played the sounds of Nascar engines and racing, a song from her to you, and she read a letter she had written to you in front of at least 75 people. She chose a beautiful, heart shaped flower arrangement, and decorated in your favorite color, bright orange...she served your favorites...chocolate chip cookies, and Hawaiian punch. Together we made a collage of pictures of the two of you. It was beautiful, and everyone in attendance felt the same. Your presence was felt as the wind blew the trees, and a flock of birds flew above as Dolly and I read our letters to you. We were then joined by family and friends at Stagnaro's for dinner, which the two of you did often. I could hear your laughter from above as you witnessed what your daughter chose to do in your memory... she knew what her daddy would have wanted. Dolly is such a strong little girl...just like her daddy. She knows how hard you fought to stay alive for her, and she misses you terribly. You will live on through her... I see it every day. We are still in shock, but we have so many loving friends, and family members who have helped in this very difficult time. I am happy that you are free of being confined to a hospital, which you disliked the most. Thank you for being so brave, and fighting so long for our daughter. I will cherish the memories I have of you that began when we were just 16 years old.
