Dennis H. Miller

It is with deep sorrow that we announce that Dennis H. Miller, beloved husband, devoted father, loving grandpa, and friend to all, gained his angel wings on Saturday, December 16, 2023, at his home in Watsonville, California, just two months shy of his 78th birthday. Dennis battled an advanced stage of cancer only identified days before his passing. He passed away peacefully, with his wife by his side, and is no longer suffering.Mr. Miller, as most called him, was born February 16, 1946, in Bradley, California, and grew up in his family home, being raised by his loving grandmother, Rose "Ma" Walker, who taught him all about hard work, being a kind person and staying positive during hard times. He started working at a young age at the gas station in town and was very popular amongst his peers. His jokes were one of a kind and left everyone laughing out loud.He graduated from King City High School in 1964 where his love for football began. He was a lineman on the football team, was tough to get past, and enjoyed playing games under the lights. He learned as much as he could about history, and he also enjoyed visiting with the custodian at school, who taught him how to take things apart and fix them. He went on to study construction and play football at Hartnell College. After continuing his education, he moved to Watsonville, California in 1968 for a better job and a more comfortable climate.He worked for the City of Watsonville in the Building and Public Works Departments in the late 60s to 80s. This is where he met his wife, and they were married in 1973. He retired from the City in 1989 to focus on growing his own Construction Company. Over the years, he built and remodeled many homes around the Watsonville area, making hundreds of people very happy with his exquisite craftsmanship and fine attention to detail. He was a very friendly and kind man who befriended everybody, even if he didn't speak the same language. He is survived by his wife of 50 years Patty, two sons Denny (Gina) and Richard, two daughters Julie and Michelle, 6 grandchildren (Jeremy, Zach, Luke, Zander, Patrick, Darwin), 3 great-grandchildren (Jonah, Matthew, and Kenzi) and numerous cousins.Viewing and visitation to celebrate his life will be held on December 30, 2023, from 1pm-4pm at Mehl's Colonial Chapel located at 222 East Lake Ave, Watsonville. Mehl's Colonial Chapel was entrusted with the funeral arrangements. Memorial donations may be made to your favorite charity or organization. The Miller Family.
