Eileen L. Owen

Resident of Scotts Valley
Eileen L. Owen, passed away on December 3, 2012 at Aegis of Aptos. She was 95. Eileen was born on March 12, 1917, in Vancouver, British Columbia the daughter of Levi Clayton Browne and Lillian Gall Browne. As an infant she moved with her family to Ocean Falls, British Columbia and when she was 5 the family relocated to Pittsburg, California then to San Jose. Eileen graduated from San Jose High School and attended San Jose State College while teaching dancing. In 1937 she began a 65 year marriage with the love of her life Emerson C. Owen. She worked for many years as an executive secretary for Santa Clara County and upon her retirement in 1973 she and Emerson moved to Seacliff beach and later to Montevalle of Scotts Valley where they were very active in social events.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Emerson, brother Harold Edson Browne and sister Dorothy Perry Davison. She is survived by her son Scott E. Owen of Santa Cruz and nieces Bonnie J. Perry Simons and Mildred (Mickey) Browne, both of Redding, CA and Carol Ann Houde of Seabeck, WA, as well as her dear friend for the last 9 years, Donald L. Hickey of Mountain View.
A celebration of her life and memorial service will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the care of Benito Azzaro Pacific Gardens Chapel. Please visit www.pacificgardenschapel.com to light a candle or express your condolences to Eileen's family.
