Eric Child Obituary

Eric Child, 79, passed away Monday, June 19, 2023 after a long illness. He was born March 25, 1944 in Utah County, Utah, the son of Thora Baugh and Lynn Child. When Eric was 13, following the death of his mother, he lived with his aunt Bernice "Bunnie" and his uncle, Dalice "Chris" Christensen in Sunnyvale, California. Eric retired as an IT consultant from eBay, San Jose, California in 1994.Eric generously shared his resources with others, in multiple ways. He readily moved toward his vision of a world of possibilities always with diligence and full intensity. Eric was one of those people who like to eat sumptuously but sparingly, drink lots of Pete's coffee, and played hard but worked even harder. His anachronistic tastes for beauty, trains, sweets, movies and all things Disney created a more playful world of wonder in those who came into his orbit. We will miss his enthusiastic spirit for all things beautiful and playful. Eric is survived by his extended family, including Rick and Lisa Rabello, Bambi and Craig Johnson, Heidi Flores, Chris Flores, and Scott and Dee Flores. He also lives on in his many friendships and thoughtful sharing with the Fern Creek & Western Garden Railroad, Santa Cruz, Kirby School, Santa Cruz, Del Mar Theater, Santa Cruz, and The Museum of History, Santa Cruz.
