Dear Aunt Bonnie and Family- what an AWESOME tribute video!! Just fantastic! Uncle George was a hero of mine from afar... His visits to New York always included great Clark Family stories from Nebraska and California and he was like having another version of my Dad around, with all the same corny jokes, personality, mannerisms and speech-patterns. You could easily tell they were indeed Brothers from a mile away! George's passing is sad for me in many ways, as it's an end of an era, the last of Elwood's Siblings has left us... It is doubtful we will ever see the likes of the Clark Siblings again- they were definitely ALL out of the same mold- stellar athletes, awesome and caring people, and genuinely nice individuals. R.I.P. Uncle George! You are already missed!

Dear Bonnie, This was very sad news. What a wonderful person. George was my 8th grade PE teacher at Cupertino Jr High in 1953. I was his PE teacher at Collins Jr High in 1964. He called and offered me the job at Collins. I had just graduated form SJS and had gotten married in Aug. The timing was great, and I accepted. I had attended Collins in the 2nd thru 5th grades when the school was brand new, and still under construction. (1948??) What a turn around. Later when I was at Fremont HS, I played against George's BB team when he was coaching at SJ high. We were all so lucky to have teachers like George, Sam Lawson, Jack Casey and so many more. Also to grow up in the Valley. Great memories, shared with great people. I'm so happy we got to share some time with you both in the foothills. We have moved to Oakmont area in Santa Rosa, now, near our daughter and granddaughters. All my love to you and your family.

Dear Bonnie, I am so sorry to hear the news about George. He was my PE teacher in 1953 at Cupertino Jr High. He later hired me as his PE teacher at Collins Jr High in 1964. My first job just after getting married. I was very proud that he would call and offered me a job. I accepted. Collins, was were I attended school from the 2nd to the 5th grade in about 1949. It was brand new, and still under construction. What a turn around. We were all so lucky to have teachers like George, Sam Lawson, Jack Casey and so many others. Memories we talk about at reunions. George was special to me. We lost track after you left the Murphys area. You were always in my thoughts, and always will be. Mary and I have just moved to Oakmont. Dear Bonnie, So sorry to hear this news. George was my PE teacher at Cupertino Jr, High about 1953. In turn I was his PE teacher in 1964. My first teaching job at Collins Jr High. I remember him calling me and asking if I needed a job. I was very proud that he called me, and I accepted. Mary and I had just gotten married and the job was great timing. Plus, I attended Collins school, the 2nd thru the 5th grade. It was brand new, and construction was still going on. (1948)
I have been thinking about George. Wondering where you were. We just left Forest Meadows and and are in Oakmont, near our daughter and grandchildren in Sonoma. I have great memories of Cupertino, and how lucky we all were to have people like George and Sam Lawson in our lives.
My thoughts are with you and your family. All my love to you all.

In the 1947-48 basketball season San Jose High's varsity team went into a three-way tie with Play (Palo Alto H.S.), and Sequoia. As the SJHS 1948 year book captured: "In unofficial playoffs our skyscrapers, paced by "All-PAL" (Peninsula Athletic League) stars George Clark and Don Montague, came through to obliterate beyond doubt as to had the best team." In that season I was on the 120's lightweight basketball team, and all of us "looked up" to that tall center and wanted to play like him, even though our tallest was only 5'6"! I was especially proud when George signed my year book: "To a good athlete! George Clark". Rest easy George, but as we talked about in our reunions, we wished we could play again..., so I know you're either playing, forming team or coaching. And have a great reunion with all the other SJHS Bulldog athletes I know you'll be meeting, including our coach Larry Arnerich. Robert ("Rag") Ragsac, SJHS '50

My thoughts and prayers are with all of you at this time. My first introduction to Mr. Clark was at Watsonville High School, in the 1970's. He was at the door of his office with the warmest smile on his face and greeted us with such enthusiasm and genuine interest in our needs as students. Years after, I befriended the Clark family as Terry and I made our way through the SJSU graduate program together. Later,as I found my way to an American School in Mexico, Mr. and Mrs. Clark had plenty of helpful advice for my adventures there! Blessings to all of you!

What a wonderful tribute to George Clark! George was the headmaster at The American School of Lima (Peru), also know as Franklin D. Roosevelt, when I was a student there in the early 1970s. It was a K-12 school with a wonderful mix of students from all over the world. George was involved, fair and a great administrator. His daughter, Kristen, was in my class. My memories of those years are some of my best. Rest in peace, George Clark.
