Irene Beuse died in Tucson, Arizona, during the early morning hours of September 27th following a brief illness. Born July 5, 1922 in Storkow, Germany, she immigrated to California with her husband and daughter in 1952. She realized the American immigrant's dream of fresh beginnings and opportunity, working hard, and creating a home in a new land. The family first lived in Cloverdale before moving to Santa Cruz in 1960 where she worked for Pfyffer Brothers and retired as office manager. With her beloved soul-mate and late husband, Fred, she traveled the world, enjoyed a wide circle of friends, was an accomplished gardener, and avid supporter of the Humane Society. After the death of her husband, she moved to Tucson in 2003 and, true to character, made many new friends. She is survived by her cherished sister, Anneliese Vandamme of Germany; devoted daughter and son-in-law, Anne and Allan McIntyre of Tucson; cousin, Margot Pomasanoff of Santa Monica; nephews Eckhard and Eike Trambow and Dieter Vandamme of Germany; as well as many family members and friends throughout the U.S. and Germany. As was her wish, her ashes will be scattered at sea, joining those of her husband in the waves off the California coast. Contributions in her name may be made to the Humane Society chapter of choice.

Please know I am saddened to learn of the passing of Irene. She was a lovely person. Irene worked with my mother, Marjorie Bergstrom, for many years at Pfyffer Bros. in the office. She will be in my prayers. Our loved ones always leave behind a love that will live on in our hearts forever............
