Jeneane Burns went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sept. 28, 2015. She was born in Hopland, CA on June 6, 1930. She was 85 years old. Jeneane's church was Santa Cruz Bible Church. She was a very dedicated greeter. Her love for everyone was so strong that she put into action the Greeter Hug. She was always known for her warm hugs. Jeneane left her legacy for over 25 yrs at Santa Cruz Bible Church. In the earlier years, Jeneane taught Sunday School at Twin Lakes Baptist, Felton Baptist and Santa Cruz Bible Church.
Preceeded her in death was her 3 passed husbands, Don Fitzgerald, Bob Getts, Tom Burns. She is survived by her 3 children, Mike Fitzgerald (Tina) of Lake Havasu, AZ, Patrick Fitzgerald of Palm Desert, CA, Diane Machado of Soquel, CA, and adopted son Tom McClellan (Jackie) of Santa Cruz, CA, and 4 grandchildren Christopher Fitzgerald of Salinas, CA, Jami Craig of Santa Cruz, Ashlynn Eldridge, Jarrod Enyart of Indiana.
Jeneane gave her heart to Christ at the age of 14 and believed in practicing His Presence with her constantly, which helped her to live for Him. Jeneane will be missed greatly by her family and her church family. A memorial service will be held at Santa Cruz Bible Church, 440 Frederick St., Santa Cruz, on Oct 17, 2:00pm.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Santa Cruz Bible Church.

Jeneane was a real blessing in my life. Her love of Christ was visible always. She was my neighbor at the age of 14. Gave me a bible before I left for oversees in 1981. Remain a faithful friend, 2nd mom and Christian example for 40 years. Her loving kindness demonstrated God's love to all she came in contact with. I will miss her, however she gave me the hope that we will meet again. Love Ray

Don't think of her as gone away
Her journey's just begun
Life holds so many facets
This earth is only one.
Just think of her as resting
From the sorrows and the tears
In a place of warmth and comfort
Where there are no days and years.
Think how she must be wishing
That we could know today
How nothing but our sadness
Can really pass away.
And think of her as living
In the hearts of those she touched
For nothing loved is ever lost
And she was loved so very much.

Jeneane definitely "practiced His Presence". Her smile told us we were welcomed and accepted. It also pierced our hearts to smile with the same sincerity back at her and toward others. She will be missed at SCBC. May God comfort her family in their loss.

Jeneane was a special lady who loved the Lord and showed that to everyone she met. Sharon and I counted her as a special friend and sister in Christ.
