1960-2016
San Jose
Lori Vance, 56, died on August 2, 2016, at Kaiser Permanente Hospital in San Jose, CA with family by her side. Lori was born on February 12, 1960 in Royal Oak, MI, to parents Elmer and Jane Szanto. After living in New York until she was 14, her family moved to Saratoga, CA where she graduated from Saratoga High School in 1978. After graduation, she accepted a position at G.E. where she met her husband, Patrick Vance. They married in 1985 and the couple had two children together. Following her time at G.E., she spent years working for Cupertino Union School District as a Special Education Teacher's Aide. Lori was a family-driven, resilient mother who enjoyed gardening, reading, and traveling, but most importantly visiting and spending time with her family. Her family will remember her as an empathetic, compassionate woman who persevered through numerous struggles, but was never without laughter and a smile. Lori is survived by her husband, Patrick Vance and sons Michael Vance and Josh Vance. A celebration of Lori's life is scheduled for Friday, August 12, 2016 at 12:00 P.M. at Seascape Resort's Riviera Room in Aptos, CA with a reception to follow. All are welcome to attend.

Lori was a glorious woman. She was always great with the kids at Tri-City baseball and Sedgwich school. My condolences to Pat, Mike and Josh. She will be missed!! With love Tanya Rivera
