Marge Shaw was born and raised in Toronto Canada along with her six brothers and sisters, including her twin sister, Rose. She was an excellent student, earning her degree from St. Michael's Hospital School of Nursing.Always one for adventure, she moved to San Francisco to join the nursing staff at Southern Pacific railways, which was the start of a lifelong pledge to help others and serve humanity. Around this time, she met her future husband, Bob where they settled in San Jose to start a family. While raising two kids, she continued advancing her career by becoming the plant nurse for General Motors and Ford Motors, school nurse at Laneview Elementary, and eventually the Safety Director for Container Corporation of America where she retired in 1999.Marge had an incredible passion for people and always gave of herself to many philanthropic organizations, such as Special Olympics and Catholic Charities. She was a caring and devoted mother to her two sons, and her three grandchildren who were her pride and joy.She and her husband Bob of 58 years, retired to Santa Cruz 24 years ago where many fond memories will be shared of the world travels she had with her husband and their numerous friends. During this time, she also was a very active Bridge and Mahjong player, as well as an accomplished teacher of Tai chi.Marge was predeceased by her husband Bob, her siblings Helen Connolly, Doris Park, Ted Yeo, Don Yeo. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Peggy Shaw; her son Michael Shaw; grandchildren; Caterina, Bianca, and Michael Jr.; Her twin sister Rosemary Kelly and her husband Ed, her brother Robert Yeo and his wife Helen; numerous nieces, nephews, and many loving extended family members.On September 8th at 11am, a service for friends and family will be held at Holy Cross Church in Santa Cruz with a reception to follow at De Anza Santa Cruz.
