An amazing singer and very talented musician. I saw The Call here in Houston at Rockerfellers back in 90 I believe. I left there almost speechless and completely wowed at the amazing band I had just been so blessed to hear! He will be missed and never forgotten.

To Michael and his family. Thank you for some of my finest memories of my teenage years. The Saints practicing in our basement, the crazy, thrown together spaghetti dinners, all the wonderful innocence of that time. I still enjoy paging through my Saints photo album and listening to my copy of the fabulous "Please Don't Leave Me". You will be missed, old friend. Thank you and God speed.

I would like to relate to the family my feelings for Michael. It was late spring/early summer of 1969. I had just met Michael through a fellow musician. I was a senior in high school, just about to graduate but the school would not let me walk with the class because of my hair length. This did not sit well with my parents and we fought and I left home. Michael was so kind as to put me up for several weeks at his apartment on 15th street in Chicago Hts. He would even pick me up after school in his car. He was very good to me when I was at a very turbulent point in my life. At the time he was in a group called"Pendragon" and I helped out doing some road work with him. I will never forget his kindness to me at such an important time in my life. He was someone to look up to as I thought he was a great player and singer. I was impressed that he was making "Dariy Queen" ads for the radio and was getting good money for it. His prior work with the "Saints" and "Troys" was inspiring to the local musicians and we all knew of him, but to have the privilege to know him was special. I will never forget. Much love to the family and to all that were close to him

Condolences to the Been family and Michael's friends. I had the honor of attending several of his concerts and I always felt that he really loved playing his music and sharing his poetic message with all in attendence.
I was fortunate to meet Michael before one of his shows here in Michael's other hometown of Chicago, and he happily spent a few minutes conversing with me. He truly did answer his heavenly Call and I hope to hear his voice again when it is my turn to step Into the Woods.

When my soul is all closed up and I can't feel my way to my heart a Michael Been song will turn the key and strip me wide open. You were the best musician I knew and I feel privileged to have known you, albeit professionally, and to have heard you sing live so many times (Airtight every Monday night at the Crow's Nest). Thank you for moving us. In the composers own words: "I Still Believe" that "Love Will Live Forever" so "Let the Day Begin" - I will think of you "Everywhere I Go"

Michael, We didn't know each other but we each played music with our mutual friend Dale Ockerman. I saw you in the early years as Airtight, at the Crow's Nest and I can still recall your strong vocals and great musicianship. May God speed, Michael - and may it be possible for us to play heavenly music together in the hereafter. RIP

Thanks Michael for your honest lyrics, compassion, wonderful music and for not being a typical "rock star". THE CALL's music still rings true today, Let The Day Begin and Red Moon are timeless works of art. In fact, like many great bands your music never gets old. Most of all Michael, thanks for taking the time to talk after your shows and signing CD covers for my son.
Love You!
