Paul Wade Obituary

passed away on July 13, 2007 near Point Reyes, California at the age of 55. Paul died doing what he loved.

Born to Stephen and Alice Wade on January 30, 1952 in Eureka, California, Paul was 1 of 4 children. Paul attended high school in Oroville, CA. He demonstrated excellence in academics and possessed creative vision, both of which led him to pursue studies in business.

He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Chico State in 1975, after which he acquired employment as a purchasing manager as well as owned his own business for many years.

Paul was compelled to follow his true calling to become a fisherman and sailor-a profession that allowed him to combine his love of the ocean, independence and freedom. Paul worked tirelessly and strenuously for 2 seasons fishing salmon, and crab. He took great delight in cooking and sharing fresh catches with his family and friends.

On August 12, 1990, Paul was united with his best friend and true love, Lori Wade, in an intimate wedding ceremony. Thoughtful soul-searching and joyful sharing enabled Paul and Lori to cultivate an unbreakable bond based on unconditional love, mutual respect and acceptance. The enduring wisdom and insights of true partnership guided all of their endeavors together, including parenthood. Paul and Lori happily united their children from previous marriages into one big, loving family.

Paul lived his life with tremendous courage and unforgiving honesty, and his actions were guided by integrity and dignity. He was very passionate about and protective of his family and friends. He exhibited compassion to all those around him, and gave his love, time and resources so generously to those in need. Paul sought a balanced life and celebrated everyday moments with genuine enthusiasm. He enjoyed sailing, breath-taking sunsets, gardening in his yard, cooking delicious food and imbibing spirits, laughing with family and friends, and the contented purr of his beloved kitties.

Paul is survived by many caring friends and a loving family, including his wife of 17 years, Lori Wade of Capitola, daughter Sarah Wade of Santa Barbara, son Alex Wade of Turlock, step-son Nate Rose of Rocklin, and step daughters Kate Rose of Mountain View and Stephanie Rose of Capitola.

Friends and family are invited to a memorial service at 4:00 p.m. on 7/21/07 at Santa Cruz Lower Harbor. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to PayPal account: [email protected].
