Richard Belding Obituary

Richard Belding
March 8, 1942~Sept. 23, 2015
Resident of Rio Del Mar
Richard Walker Belding passed away unexpectedly on September 23, 2015 at his home in Rio Del Mar with his son by his side. He was 73 years young, recently body surfing in the Pacific Ocean with John. Rich was born in Oakland, California on March 8, 1942. He attended Los Altos High School and Foothill College where he was an All-American swimmer. He worked for 30 years at the Peninsula Times Tribune and excelled as an advertising executive. More importantly, this is where he met the love of his life, Katherine Arnerich. He was a dedicated husband to Kathy, whom he adored and tirelessly cared for throughout her illness.
Rich is survived by his children, Emmy and John, to whom he was a devoted and loving father. He was their biggest fan in every aspect of their lives. He was greatly loved and will be sadly missed by his entire family. In his later years, he treasured special times and adventures with the Hinga family. Rich was known for his big heart, gentle spirit, and winning smile. Our hearts are comforted knowing he is reunited with his greatest love.
An open house Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, October 4, 2015. Please email [email protected] for the time and place. Mehl's Colonial Chapel in charge of arrangements.

Dear John and Emmy,,
We just heard about your Dad from JP this weekend and we wanted you to know we are thinking about you.
Your parents were great people and we always enjoyed their company during our St. Charles days.
We do believe that they are together again in Heaven and that their souls are happy and smiling down on their family.
