A Celebration of Life will be held for Roberly Bedayan of Ben Lomond, who died May 31, 2007 after a long battle with Leukemia. She was 50.
She was raised in Torrance, CA and lived in Santa Cruz County since 1983.
She earned a Special Education teaching credential from San Jose State University in 1978, and was a teacher at the San Lorenzo Valley Middle School.
She helped thousands of young people to excel despite their personal academic, physical and emotional challenges, encouraging them to use all their unique gifts to better themselves and the world around them. Many of Roberly's former students gathered to dedicate this year's yearbook to her at a school-wide assembly this May.
Roberly was also an inspiration to those fighting and raising funds to fight blood cancers. She was a devoted honoree for the Santa Cruz Monterey Bay chapter's Leukemia Lymphoma Society, and dedicated much of her time to educating people about the disease. She was at the sideline of many a Team in Training event, cheering on the runners and walkers and thanking them for being a part of finding a cure.
To her close friends, Roberly brought a deep sense of joy and zest for living. Her vibrancy shone throughout everything she did. She loved a good movie, a blues concert, a hike in the park, and a toast with fine wine. She was a lady with passion.
She is survived by her husband Bruce Bedayan of Ben Lomond, daughters Raechel Bedayan of Santa Barbara and Christy Bedayan of San Luis Obispo, and mother Rioh Heigh of Ashland, Oregon.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 430 Riverside Ave, Ben Lomond from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on 6/18/07.

Wow. I cannot imagine the depth Bruce, Raechel, Christy and Rioh must be feeling. I am so sorry for your loss.
I cannot begin to tell you what an impact Roberly had and continues to have on my life. Her skillful, caring, creative teaching turned my son, Eddie's life around. I celebrate Roberly! With joy! With laughter! With dancing! With walking a marathon with TNT! With good books, good wine, good movies and good friends! Roberly was a gift to this world. What a blessing to have known her!

I read Roberly's poem as I was getting ready to run the RNR marathon for Team in Training. It touched me very much. She was obviously a very special person. We were all shocked to hear of her passing before we ran. We ran with her in our hearts. GO TEAM!
