Robert Bol Obituary
March 16, 1963 - October 2, 2012
Resident of Visalia, CA
Robert "Dutch" Bol unexpectedly passed away on October 2nd, 2012. First and foremost he loved his children, Melanie (age 19) and Brenden (age 16) Bol of Visalia, who will miss him terribly. He was born on March 16th, 1963. He is predeceased by his parents, John and Elizabeth Bol, who immigrated from the Netherlands and settled in Watsonville, California where Robert was born and raised. His Dutch heritage and character earned him his nickname. Robert graduated from Watsonville High School in 1981 and from California State University, Fresno in 1986 with a degree in Business Agriculture. Robert was a produce man. First, he worked in strawberries with his father, progressing to West Coast Sales Manager in the Oppenheimer Group and then opening his own business called Dutch Produce. He has resided in Visalia since 1991.
As a devoted father, what Robert enjoyed most was spending time with his children. He enjoyed taking his constant companions Black Dog and Nike on long walks. He became a bit of a fitness buff and regularly attended Inshape gym. He also attended Visalia Crossroads church. He spent time traveling nationally and internationally, but his favorite vacation spots included Lake Tahoe, Newport Beach, and Hawaii. Robert had a wonderful sense of humor and a penchant for bad jokes.
He leaves behind other numerous family members and friends who will cherish his memory. He will be missed by his sisters, Ane Bol Nelson and Linda Bol. He is predeceased by his brother Michael Bol. Dennis Bol, his cousin, has been more like a close brother and continues to support him. His best friend George Gugale was always at his side. He is also survived by his cousins Caroline Bol and Richard Bol, his aunt and uncle, Nellie and Peter Bol, his nephew Derek Jan Hughes and many other relatives in Holland. May he rest in peace. He will be missed.
A memorial service will be held at Miller's Memorial Chapel on Friday, October 12th. A reception at the the Lakes Clubhouse 2 follows (5831 W. Sweet Dr. off Ackers). In lieu of flowers, donations in his name to the Valley Oaks SPCA Shelter (www.vospca.org) or the American Heart Association (www.americanheart.org) would be appreciated.

The last time I seen you was at our WHS81 Class Reunion in 2001. My best memories are us going to school at Salsi. Not a week goes by, that I don't think about all the friends from Salsi days. You'll be missed by everyone you touched in life. God Bless You, my old friend.
