What a kind, funny and loving friend! Rob was like my big brother when I was his neighbor in Huntington Beach so many years ago.

Rob was a kind, quiet, steady rock of a guy. He will be sorely missed by his family and friends and remembered with such great fondness. Sweet and unflappable with babies, kids and dogs, Rob was also such a "guy" in his outside hobbies and interests: following sports, fishing, golfing and putzing in his workshop. I hope there is a Heaven..... and that Rob is there with much loved dogs, family and friends who have gone before him.

Rob and I grew up together in Southern California and have known each other since Jr. High School. When he moved into the neighborhood, all we cared about the new guy was whether or not he could place baseball... which he did.. he was an all-star! We played baseball together for years thereafter, always laughing and trying to out-play one another. We developed a lifelong friendship and went on to share memories that only good friends can do... school, sports, parties, car wrecks, surfing trips, Viet Nam and fishing trips.
The surfing years were the best. Competing, laughing, traveling, sharing stories, broken down cars, shaping boards, California, Hawaii and Mexico.
Easily, the best thing that ever happened to Rob, was Jane, his lifelong companion. They were simply made for one another. They have a wonderful marriage, wonderful children and grandchildren, who will carry on his incredible legacy. His great love of family and friends is unmatched.
I always smile when I think of Rob. He had a great sense of humor and country boy take on life. He had the unique ability to say the right thing at the right time. I miss him terribly and can only find peace knowing that he's out there fishing and smiling... and making wise cracks as only he can do. Aloha Rob...
