Vicki Leidall Obituary

Vicki Leidall
May 15, 1958 - May 15, 2017
Sun City West, Arizona
Vicki Lynn Leidall, formerly of Aptos, passed away peacefully May 15, 2017, the morning of her 59th birthday. Her devoted parents were at her bedside.
She is reunited with her grandparents, cousin, Larry, and father, Mike who preceded her in death.

Santa Cruz County was Vicki's revered home for 36-years. Active and athletic at an early age, Vicki played softball, golf, tennis, volleyball, field hockey, and flag football. She loved to body surf, swim, cycle and hike. She graduated from Harbor High School in 1976, attended Cabrillo College, and earned a Bachelor's of Science degree in Sports Medicine from San Jose State University in 1982. In 1987, she completed studies as a Licensed Physical Therapy Assistant.

Vicki's vocation was that of both a Certified Athletic Trainer and Physical Therapy Assistant. She was deeply passionate about aiding patients in rehabilitative healing while working for Adams & Schmidt, Sandra Skates D.O., Watsonville Hospital, Sanna Physical Therapy and Sutter Health of Santa Cruz.

Vicki earned The Doctor & Master of Traditional Chinese Medicine degree at Five Branches University in 2002. Sadly, the gradual progression of a rare form of early onset dementia kept her from realizing her dream of practicing Eastern Medicine.

Vicki cherished her years and experiences in Santa Cruz County and was very grateful for many meaningful friendships formed there.

She is survived by her parents, Emil and Donna Authelet of Sun City West AZ; brothers, Jeff Leidall of Point Richmond CA, and John Authelet (Colleen) of Broken Arrow OK; sister, Karen Authelet of San Diego CA; and Nephew, Sean Authelet of Norman, OK.

A private family service is being held. Memorial contributions can be made to the Land Trust of Santa Cruz County or the charity of your choice.

Vicki and I became fast friends when we played together on the Cabrillo College volleyball team in the fall of 1977. I was deeply saddened when I learned of her passing and I think of her often as I pass the church on Trevethan at which her dad was a minister. Rest in Paradise, Vicki.

To Our Daughter

THINGS THAT DEMENTIA CANNOT TAKE AWAY FROM YOU!

The hope that holds you in His hands ...
God's love for you that you can never loose ...
The treasures laid up for you in Heaven...
Your worth and being loveable...
Your faith that soon will become sight...
Your life that will never end...
The lessons learned and the ones you taught...
God's love for you and through you to others...
Joys shared and causes you served...
Your accomplishments and contributions made...
your faith and your future with God...
the person you were, are and always will be...
the love you have shared and the gifts given...
The place He is preparing for you in His presence...
The life you have shared and the gifts given...
Your maturing and your sensibilities...
Your healing touch and depth of caring...
The tunes you have sung and the dances shared...
The family that is always there for you...
The Kingdom that claims you as its own...
The memories that are stored up in Heaven...
The ways in which you will be remembered...
The rest and healing that awaits you when you get Home...

Donna and Emil,
Frank and I have fond memories of Vicki (and
you) when she was growing up in the seventies. She was a
warm and outgoing person, always so friendly
to us. We want to express our sincere condolences
to you and family for your loss.

I am so very sorry to learn of Vicki's passing. She was a wonderful teammate (Cabrillo College volleyball 1977) and friend. I often thought of Vicki over the years since I last saw her. I found this picture of our CC team; Vicki is top row, center. Praying that you will be comforted by our good Father as you grieve.
