Virginia Dorothea Wardle entered into the Kingdom of Heaven on September 2nd at the age of 91. She was born in Pacific Grove to her parents Howard and Wilhelmina Mumford. She was married to Ronald Wardle for 58 years, and had two children, Lori and Randy. She made many lifelong friends in Pacific Grove and in Aptos. Virginia worked in one of the sardine factories on Cannery Row, worked at a local bank, taught preschool, worked as a telephone operator, worked at Holman's Department Store, and finally, worked as a nurse in Santa Cruz. She loved Mount Hermon and Twin Lakes Church, which she attended for 54 years. She was instrumental in the creation of Anna Jean Cummings "Blue Ball" Park in Soquel, and volunteered with the March of Dimes and the American Red Cross.
Virginia is survived by her children, Lori & Leonard Dueck of Aptos, and Randy & Karen Wardle of Aptos. She absolutely loved her grandchildren: Jennifer & Matthew Williams and their children Emily & Wyatt of Auburn, CA, Christina & Sterling McHale of Alexandria, VA, and Andrew Dueck of Aptos. She had numerous nieces and nephews.
