Weldon Nunes Obituary

Weldon Douglas Nunes passed away on September 22, 2008 in Aptos, CA of natural causes. Weldon was born to Manuel and Anna Nunes on April 12, 1918. He was preceded in death by his sisters Clementine Newman and Gertrude Moulthrop as well as his brother George Nunes all of Watsonville. Weldon is now reunited with his loving and cherished family.

Weldon leaves behind his four daughters, Joanne Russell and her husband Mark of Las Vegas, Kristine Nunes of San Jose, Debbie Meduri and her husband John of Campbell, and Brenda Purcell of San Jose. He was also the loving grandfather of Michael Russell, Ryann Russell, Matthew Meduri and his wife, Joy Blake, Jason Meduri, Jeremy Gerrard, and great-grandfather to Luella Blake Meduri. The "Colonel", as he was known by his many friends, had an amazing spirit, hard-work ethic, and joy for life that touched us all.

The family would like to thank the entire staff at Aegis Assisted Living Home in Aptos, as well as Hospice of Santa Cruz for all of the professional and tender care they provided. A celebration of life will be held at Lima Family Erickson Mortuary, 710 Willow St., San Jose on Saturday October 4th 2008 at 7:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donation be made to Hospice of Santa Cruz, Aegis Assisted Living Home of Aptos, or a charity of your choosing.

my heart goes out to the nunes family,may god be with you,and bless you threw the pain and sorrow of your loss of lozing a dear loved one.may god be with him and his angels,and fill his cup with love and joy and may god send his angels to watch over the nunes family and bless them and keep him in your thoughts and heart forever
