Dearest Hayyim and Alan, I just found out about your Mother´s passing. I have a nice memory of her when you all lived on Laughlin in Santa Fe. She was always very kind to me.

BB was such a sparkler! I loved my visits with BB at Sierra Vista, and listening to her sing was just pure wonderful. I will miss her fiery and big presence, and feel lucky to have known BB! She was a gift to all.

To H2O, Hayyim and all the Family,
When I first met Beebe at Sierra Vista we were listening to some music and she jumped up to dance. It was so spontaneous and joyful her spirit filled the room. Once I knew we shared a love of music it was easy to know something about her story. We had both lived in Chicago, she on the West Side, me on the South Side, we both loved to walk in Lakeside Park, listen to music in the downtown Jazz Clubs and we both loved Marc Chagall.
To get her attention, I would sing, “You’re the Top, you’re the tower of Pisa, You’re the smile on the Mona Lisa,” and she would grin. She had such a genuine smile and a warmth that was like the sun shining. And I could always get her to smile with a chorus of “I can’t give you anything but love Baby, That’s the only thing I’ve plenty of, Beebe."
Certainly she could be ornery and contrary but that too was part of her charm. She reminded me of my grandmother who had opinions about everything including you, and who was as pointed in her thinking and as generous in her concerns as our shared beloved, Ruth Bader Ginsberg.
I am hoping that your whole family will carry on Beebe’s spirit and traditions. Thank you for sharing her with us. With heartfelt sadness and with love to you all, my condolences, Wendy Cadden.
