Carl Berghofer Obituary
"Windy" Carl B. Berghofer Jr., passed away on March 9th, 2023.
A husband, father, brother and son who served in the USAF, Army National Guard, Radio Communications for the State of New Mexico, a Ham radio operator, Masonic Lodge member, firefighter, farmer, self-described philosopher who spent life loving family, helping, rescuing people near and far.
Windy is preceded in death by his mother Faith K Berghofer, his brother Gordon, and sister Faith Elaine.
He is survived by his father, Carl Berghofer Sr., wife Jan Berghofer, sons Carl J Berghofer, Mikel Berghofer, and daughter Sherieta Neleigh (and husband Eric), along with many grandchildren, friends, and neighbors, all of whom loved Windy deeply. He will continue to be greatly missed and appreciated for the lifelong legacy of the family, community, and state/ country service he provided.
A June Memorial Service is being planned by the family. In lieu of flowers, the family asks a donation be made to any Dixon/ Embudo community organization (Library, VFD, Coop, etc).
