DENISE SEAVEY Obituary

October 15, 2025
Denise Seavey, 72, of Santa Fe, passed away peacefully at home on October 15, 2025, surrounded by her family. She bravely fought ovarian cancer for nine years with faith, grace, and unwavering trust in the Lord.
Born August 1, 1953, in Albuquerque, Denise was the eldest of four children. She studied special education and worked as a teacher before devoting herself to her greatest joy - raising her family. She shared her deep love for Jesus Christ through music, ministry, mentoring, and a lifetime of prayer for others.
Denise is survived by her husband of 49 years, Knight Seavey; her mother, Barbara Volk; her children, Drew (Cathy) Seavey and Erin (Adam) Sparkman; three grandchildren; and three brothers. She was preceded in death by her father, Richard Volk.
A service celebrating Denise's life will be held at First Baptist Church Santa Fe on Saturday, November 1, at 11:00 AM.

Oh my Denise...my fearless prayer warrior. How I will miss hearing from you and sharing our prayer needs. Perhaps the world can say that you lost the cancer battle but as born again believers we can confidently say that YOU WON THE SPIRITUAL WAR!!! You are now safely in the arms of Jesus our beloved Savior. No more pain! And those of us who share your belief will see you again one day.

Denise was one of the kindest ladies that I was privileged to know. We were neighbors growing up and we went to the same high school. I will always remember her sweet smile and her twinkling eyes. I treasure the memory of praying with her at the Newman Center at UNM. I also hope to see her in eternity. "You never lose what you give to God." St. Augustine
