Mr. Miller was our wonderful "filling station man" in Summer Grove. He would even come to my parents' house if needed. Sympathy to his family.

What a wonderful man! There were many years of the Childers' kids driving up to the gas station and saying filler up Mr. Miller, daddy said put it on his tab. Of course he always had something funny to say about that! May God give you peace in knowing he is comfortable in his eternal life with Jesus. From all the children of Ben and Betty Childers

Ahhh, Renee, I am so so sorry about your sweet Daddy. He is, was and always will be the sweetest Daddy and you will remember things about him and say things about him and keep his sweet spirit and memories alive right there in your heart. He may not be "here" but he will never leave you. I love you and will talk to you soon.

We are so sorry for your loss. James Miller was the hardest working man I have ever met, and a wonderful, caring uncle to Bobby. May God bless you and keep you during this difficult time.

We are so sorry for your loss. Mr. James and Mr. Force grew up with our father, Wilbur "Jim" Wooley in the Negreet, LA area. They went to school together and learned to swim together back before there ever was a Toledo Bend. They even signed our parents' wedding license as witnesses for the union of Wilbur Wooley and Dorothy Salley Wooley. We still have the license. Our thoughts and prayers are with your family at this time. Jimmy Ray Wooley, Sr. of Keithville, LA, Betty Jean Wooley Bass and Saundra Marie Wooley of Shreveport, LA (all by way of Belmont, LA :)

The Final Salute
“Brothers in Arms”, Military men and women down through the centuries, have traditionally exchanged “Hand Salutes” as a sign of recognition and as a way to render courtesy and respect one to another.
This “Hand Salute” is the last that we shall render to James Paul Miller our “Brother-in-Arms”. To his family it symbolizes the love and respect that we have for James. And to James it is rendered as a symbol of honor and gratitude to thank him for the devoted and selfless service he rendered to his country during post WW-II and the Korean War while serving in the U.S. Army and the U.S. Navy. James, we commend you for your honorable service. You are a true patriot, who served with honor and distinction. You upheld the finest qualities of an American patriot warrior: courage, commitment, generosity, sacrifice, love and devotion to family and country. We bid you a sad farewell. You will be dearly missed from among our ranks. Be at Ease. Rest in Peace.
On behalf of the 1,261 military veteran Legionnaires of Lowe-McFarlane Post 14 of the American Legion and the 233 veterans of VFW Post 2238 in Shreveport, Louisiana, we extend our sympathies and our condolences to James' family and loved ones.
