Evelyn Petshek Obituary

Evelyn L. Petshek Born in London, England, Evelyn L. Petshek died in Santa Fe at the age of 93. She will be greatly missed, but her legacy will continue well beyond her life. Her leadership in Santa Fe was well known: President of The Unitarian Church, President of the League of Women Voters, Santa Fe Community Foundation board member plus Circle of Care founding member, and board member of the Council on International Relations. Her continuing generosity to local Santa Fe organizations will live forever as her estate goes to the Santa Fe Community Foundation to be endowed in perpetuity benefiting health and human services and the musical arts. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Kirk. They came to the United States where he completed a PhD in Economics at Harvard University in 1947. A quiet but determined person, Evelyn wrote in their 1956 Christmas letter, "We make up in sincerity what we lack in originality." Arrangements are under the direction of Berardinelli Family Funeral Service 1399 Luisa Street Santa Fe, NM 87505 (505)984-8600
