Our beloved Jane Tokunaga died on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, at her home in Santa Fe, with her husband, Takashi Tokunaga, at her side.
Jane was born Jane Schramm on Long Island, New York, on May 10, 1946. She graduated from UC Berkeley and was active in women's issues in New York before moving with Takashi to Santa Fe in 1985, where she worked in real estate for 25 years.
Jane was a photographer, a poet, and a passionate animal advocate.
In addition to Takashi and her dog, Angel, Jane is survived by her brother, Rob Schramm, of Cincinnati, Ohio; her sister-in-law, Britta Schramm, of Los Angeles; and her many loving friends.
We remember Jane as a joyful, brilliant, and talented spirit who gave light to our lives.
